Our topic for the Summer Term is called ‘Where shall we go’ and we will be looking at the seaside and coast as well as looking and comparing the two in the past and current day.

Maths

Literacy

This term our Talk for Writing book will be The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark. We will also be making comparisons and links between this book and two others Owl Babies and Fly by Night. This will then lead to us writing our own story.

Science

In Science this term we will be looking at Living Things and Their Habitats. We have already discussed what we would like to look out during this unit of work and some of the ideas included going on a bug hunt and finding out what different animals like to eat.

French

Madam Chew will deliver French lessons once a week. We will develop our spoken French on various topics such as introducing ourselves and telling someone how old we are..

Music

Music will be taught by Miss McVey on a weekly basis. We will be learning how to play a variety of instruments to create sounds and rhythms.

Reminders

A quick reminder:

One piece of Literacy and Maths homework will be given out on a Thursday and will be collected in on the Tuesday of each week. Homework is to be completed by all children. The homework will be based on topics the children have completed in class during that week. There is also homework club on a Thursday after school for any child who would like to attend.

Art lessons are on a Wednesday afternoon along with our PE lessons. Please make sure full PE kits are in school for every PE lesson.

Please also listen to your child read regularly as this will be a great benefit to them. We also ask that your child has their reading book and record in school each day.

Thank you for visiting our class page and please do not hesitate to come in and arrange a meeting if you have any questions.
